WOULD YOU RATHER DIE THAN HAVE YOUR WIFE MAKE MORE MONEY THAN YOU?

That’s what @tonygaskins told me during our recent conversation about manhood, masculinity, and the things men think but don’t always say out loud.

Naturally, I had a follow-up question.

Is it really about a man not wanting his wife to carry the burden of provision? Or is it about the discomfort some men feel when a woman earns more than they do?

Because there’s a difference between wanting to provide for your family and feeling threatened by your wife’s ability to provide, too.

So let’s talk about it. Do you believe this is about responsibility, traditional gender roles, insecurity, or something else entirely? I want to hear your thoughts.

Some of you praise men for being obsessed with their wives, but call women pick-me’s for loving their husbands loudly. 😂

Feminism is about giving women the freedom to choose, not creating a new set of rules for how women should love. A woman can prioritise her marriage without losing herself. The goal is not to teach women to love men less, it’s to ensure they never have to abandon themselves to be loved.
