Went to my home town the other day and digging through my record collection from when I was a teenager (yes I used to be obsessed with collecting vintage stuff even then!), I found this old ABBA record I used to play over and over! 🎵
Of course I had to bring it back to my studio and play it on my minty Panasonic SG-123, a Portable Vinyl Player from the 70’s. 🎹
Although many of my favorite songs are on this ABBA Greatesr Hits Vol. 2, I decided to record one of ABBA’s most popular and loved songs—“Dancing Queen” while playing both the LP and keyboard.🕺
A fun fact about ABBA’s hit song Dancing Queen is that it was inspired by the American disco sound, particularly George McCrae’s Rock Your Baby. Released in 1976, Dancing Queen became ABBA’s only number-one hit in the United States and is often considered one of the greatest pop songs of all time. Interestingly, the band members were reportedly moved to tears when they first heard the finished version in the studio—they knew they had created something special. 🥰
