As a young rider I was given a lot of opportunities because my family was willing to do whatever it took to get me in the ring. I deeply appreciated the sacrifices they were willing to make so that I had opportunities to grow in my sport and so that my ponies/horses would have the best care we could give them.

Now as an adult and young professional, I am not shocked by, and I constantly appreciate, the financial aspect of being part of the equestrian world. I say that “I work hard so my horse can have a better life,” not just because it’s cute and funny, but also because it is true. I’ve always wanted to be the type of owner/rider/trainer/horsewoman who can give her horses the BEST of the BEST — truly rich in the industry.

When I say “rich” here are some examples of what I mean:
- Vet details a procedure and my first question is, “great when can we do this?” Instead of, “Oh, how much does it cost?”❤️‍🩹
- Client loses their job and can’t cover their horse’s shoeing for a month, I can say, “Hey, don’t stress, I will take care of them until you’re back on your feet.”👟🐎
- Feed prices spike from a major weather event: being able to feed everyone AND not gouge money out of clients to make it happen, no matter the personal cost.🌾🐴

These are just a few examples I think of when I think about why I work three jobs and feel like I am go, go, go, nonstop. Because this is the type of “rich” horsewoman I want to be — one who gives all horses she meets a truly better life.✨🦄💜
