We were honored to participate in the Marconi Society Gala at the UCLA Luskin Center in Los Angeles, where Consul Lorenza Errighi represented the Consulate General of Italy in celebrating excellence in global telecommunications and the presentation of the prestigious Marconi Prize.

Consul Errighi had the pleasure of joining Giulia Fortunato, President of the Fondazione Guglielmo Marconi, the Society’s sister institution in Bologna. Notably, last year’s edition of the Gala was hosted in Bologna to mark the 150th anniversary of Guglielmo Marconi’s birth, a major milestone honoring one of Italy’s greatest innovators.

The evening recognized remarkable leaders whose work continues to shape the way the world connects, including Martin Cooper, inventor of the handheld mobile phone, who received the Lifetime Achievement Award.

A meaningful opportunity to celebrate Marconi’s enduring legacy and to reaffirm the strong scientific and technological ties between Italy and the United States. 🇮🇹🤝🇺🇸
