MR. PH 25🇵🇭 [1/2]

Now that the Mr. PHL experience is over and 2 weeks have gone by…nothing can express the impact that will stick with me for the rest of my life. When I entered this competition I wanted the crown. I walked out of this with no crown, but with so much love, knowledge, and eternal gratefulness on what it means to be who I am and the people I shared this experience with! Mr. PH means that I not only shared my story but I got to see others that are similar yet so different from my own! Mr. PH means winning isn’t represented by a sash and a crown. I won just by sharing that stage alongside the fellow reps I now call brothers, I won by fully dedicating my all into my performance, and most of all, I won by fully embodying my queer Pinoy pride! This outlet of a 7 month dedication period has showcased my love for culture and made me realize that the “lost part” of myself has been inside me all along! Being Pinoy isn’t something I should hide but celebrate!

This years theme: Pagbabalik Tanaw (looking back) has allowed me to reminisce on the past, fully take in the beauty of my journey, and what I’ve gone though to get where I am today. This competition made little Timmy proud! Growing up I didn’t get a lot of support for my identity… so I hid who I was. Now, with the hills I’ve climbed to get where I am today and especially through Mr. PH I have made little Timmy the proudest boy in the world! I’ve been able to represent our culture in the queerest and most unapologetic way as possible! From the island of Guam to moving to mainland America at 12, I can finally say that I am enough and that being Filipino and gay is who I am. No one can change that!

I will continue to advocate and share my love for Pinoy Pride! I will continue to nurture and love the connections I have and the connections I’ve made throughout this experience. And as of next year…once we find our Mr. FYI 2026…I will pass down my title to the lucky man who I hope gets the same and if not better experience as I. Thank you for such an unforgettable experience!

maraming maraming salamat ♡
