EVER WONDER WHAT A PRIVATE ELVIS CONCERT AT HOME WOULD SOUND LIKE? This may be the closest we’ll ever get! Hear Elvis sing “See See Rider” and “That’s All Right” in these rare private home recordings from 53 years ago. No crowd… No stage… No spotlight… Just Elvis. PICTURE IT: Early November 1973 (believed to be Nov. 3rd or 4th) • 1317 Favell Drive, Memphis. Elvis had just gotten out of the hospital days earlier, following a few rough months: 🗓️ Sep. 3: He fires the Colonel after a wild and unpredictable closing show in Vegas (spoiler alert: they reconciled, much to our dismay). 🗓️ Oct. 9: His divorce becomes final. 🗓️ Oct. 15: He enters the hospital, where he remains until Thursday, November 1, with girlfriend Linda Thompson by his side. That weekend, Elvis and Linda visit her brother Sam. Also there are Sam’s wife, Linda’s parents, and Elvis’ stepbrother Ricky. Before long, Elvis picks up Sam’s old guitar and starts singing a number of songs, including two of his famous show openers: “See See Rider” and “That’s All Right.” How grateful are we that they hit record!? Listen closely, and you can almost sense Elvis’ mood: Quiet. Reflective. Weary. Vulnerable. This isn’t the superstar the world knows. It’s just Elvis. The man and his guitar. And our admiration for that man shines brighter than any spotlight. 🌟 💗 #elvis #elvispresley #graceland #elvishistory #kingofrockandroll All rights are owned by their respective holders. “What you don’t get is not for you.”  England and Inter Milan footballer @djedspence is the latest cover star of NOTION’s 100th issue.  From grassroots beginnings at Peckham Town FC to starring for England at this year’s World Cup, the England full-back’s journey has been anything but predictable. Carving out a career defined by flair, versatility and a determination to do things his own way, Spence always manages to find his feet whilst maintaining a cool demeanour through football’s trials and tribulations.  For NOTION 100, he reflects on a fresh start back in Italy with Inter Milan, the experiences that have shaped him as a player so far and the importance of staying true to himself.  Get your copy via the link in bio now.   Words @tawandaharris_   Photographer & Creative Director @elliothensford  Creative Director & Executive Producer @maxalan._     Production Company @marvellouslastnight  Production Manager @isaactapiki     NOTION Print & Special Projects Director @kittyrobson  NOTION Senior Creative Producer @oliviaalicew  NOTION Graphic Designer @livi.av  NOTION Videographer @ebengoode     Stylist @elshhyy  Styling Assistant @yodittzegai     Makeup Artist @ffyyoobb     Lighting Director @geornden  2nd Assistant @8035photos     Mural Artist @23teemoney  Construction Manager @saylessstudios.co.uk  Stand in Set Designer & Scenic @p.whitehornart  Carpenter @_reubenrobinson  Carpenter & Art Assistant @sam_uel315     Retoucher @hilucyb  Post Producer @econe_lab     Studio @oppenheimstudios
