Growing up is realizing that some of the simplest things in life were actually the biggest forms of love. ❤️ As children, we never really thought about the effort behind a home-cooked meal. We just came home hungry, sat at the table, ate our food, and carried on with our day. We didn't notice the shopping, the chopping, the cooking, or the countless little things our mothers did to make sure everyone was fed. We thought it was normal. We complained about the vegetables, got bored of the same dishes, and sometimes ate without even saying thank you. We never stopped to think about how early she woke up, how tired she might have been, or how much of her day went into taking care of everyone else. Then, one day, we grow up. We start cooking for ourselves. We realise how exhausting it is to plan even one meal, let alone three meals a day for an entire family. We begin to understand that a warm meal, a clean home, and someone asking, “Have you eaten?” aren't just ordinary things. They're privileges filled with love. And suddenly, those dinners we once took for granted become memories we'd give anything to experience again. Because sometimes, love doesn't arrive with grand gestures or beautiful words. Sometimes, it looks like your favourite food waiting on the table. Sometimes, it's someone remembering what you like, making sure you're fed, and caring for you in ways you don't fully understand until you're older. So, if your mom still cooks for you, take a moment to appreciate it. Notice the effort. Help her when you can. Say thank you. Spend time with her. And maybe, just once, tell her: “I know now how much you did for us.” 🥹❤️ You may not have appreciated everything when you were younger, and that's okay. Growing up is partly about learning to recognise the love hidden inside the things we once considered ordinary. Follow @Thought.minds for more reminders about life, love, family, and the little things that truly matter. 🤍 Save this post if it reminded you of your mom, and share it with someone who needs to appreciate their family a little more today. #MotherLove #FamilyLove #LifeLessons #Gratitude #ThoughtMinds
