Kimberly Guilfoyle resigned as U.S. ambassador to Greece on Tuesday, after The Wall Street Journal reported that she had solicited $100,000 from a Trump donor in the run-up to her confirmation hearing last year.⁠ ⁠ “Serving as the United States Ambassador to Greece has been the honor of a lifetime. I will forever be grateful to President Donald J. Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio for entrusting me with the extraordinary privilege of representing the greatest country in the history of the world,” she said in a post on X.⁠ ⁠ Guilfoyle also addressed the allegations against her, saying: “These allegations are false, and I intend to vigorously defend my name, my reputation and my integrity.”⁠ ⁠ The Journal reported last week that Guilfoyle had sought a $100,000 payment to her American Express account days before her confirmation hearing. While soliciting the payment from Eric Deters, a Trump donor and former congressional candidate, Guilfoyle had touted her connections to the Trump administration and sought to lobby the Internal Revenue Service and Justice Department on his behalf, according to text messages reviewed by the Journal. She promised to be his “Trump ride or die, forever and ever” if he came up with the Amex money. He didn’t ultimately make the payment, telling her it would cost him his marriage.⁠ ⁠ Guilfoyle’s lawyer disputed the authenticity of the messages but declined to provide specifics, and said the ambassador was “owed a balance” for events she had attended prior to her nomination. Соответствующее поручение дал Премьер-министр Олжас Бектенов. Он отметил, что в строительной отрасли ключевой задачей остается обеспечение фактического ввода запланированного объема жилья в размере 20,4 млн кв. м. – При этом жилье должно быть полностью готово к эксплуатации и обеспечено необходимой инфраструктурой и благоустройством, – сказал Бектенов. Акиматам регионов поручено подготовить земельные участки и ускорить подведение инженерной инфраструктуры. Премьер-министр заявил о необходимости совершенствовать механизмы финансирования жилья и повышать доступность жилищных программ, а также поручил выработать предложения по снижению размера первоначального взноса. Напомним, Президент Касым-Жомарт Токаев регулярно поднимает вопросы оптимизации жилищных программ и повышения доступности ипотеки для казахстанцев.
