Couldn’t have asked for a better final Rising Stars concert (as a student). Starting the Christmas season, I was just thinking I was gonna have a chill season without really having to do anything major… and I was entirely wrong😅 First arrangement I showed to the instructors was an arrangement of Carol of the Bells, cause I wanted to get a little involved (I hadn’t arranged a song for Christmas at that point), and I was really close to getting it but the band ended up playing the arrangement from Adrian Burke, which sounded WAY better than mine so I’m not gonna complain. Then one day while going to practice I get pulled to the side from James Gittens, and he asked me to do Green Christmas instead and lended me some old music to base the arrangement off of, but do my own variation of it. Let’s just say it went through like 4,000,000 changes along the way, with turbulences like the difficulty of the song, length, and extra fluff that didn’t have to be in the song. Also along with the song I was asked if I wanted to conduct the song, and knowing me, I agreed. For only being able to work on and conduct the song THE WEEK OF THE CONCERT, I’m really happy on how it came out.
