Mr. Wonlay

Last Wednesday I represented @jakartainternationalenglish to lead a workshop titled ‘English Speaking Skills for the Workplace’ at @atamerica, Jakarta.

Together with my co-facilitator @aalyma__, we helped our audience of around 60 participants understand the importance of speaking English clearly and concisely during meetings and presentations in the workplace. We introduced the 3Ws (What, Why, and What’s Next) and PEEL (Point, Explanation, Evidence, Link) techniques to help improve unclear and overly verbose speeches. During these activities, we also challenged participants to prepare their own short speeches by providing work-related prompts, and even invited some of them to come on stage to present.

Overall, it was a wonderful experience to witness real-time improvements among the participants. On a personal level, it was also an important milestone for me to be able to share my knowledge on such a prestigious stage.
