@mattsunroyal Did your mate, Sussex PR man Liam, tell you that? Did you have a nice chat with him when you were in Nottingham? It’s a fair question, given the timing—and when a key detail seems to have been left out.

You’re leaving out a vital part of this story: the letter was sent by Meghan Markle’s PR firm, Sunshine Sachs. That detail matters. It changes the context, and it’s exactly the sort of information your readers deserve before they’re asked to react.

And then there’s the copy. How did The Sun get one? If the Met had the original, wouldn’t it have filed it? If The Sun was shown a copy, who provided it—and why isn’t that central to the reporting?

The Met issued a statement saying no investigation had taken place and that it was looking into whether it had a letter. Yet The Sun has somehow seen “the letter” reportedly sent to British police eight years ago about an American citizen who hasn’t been to the UK. Those are obvious questions, not minor details. Where did this copy come from, and why are readers being asked to accept the story without answers?

If this is journalism, it’s little more than a PR handout dressed up as an exposé.
