In our culture, when we say “I love you,” we usually mean:
“I love how you make me feel.”
But that’s not biblical love.
Paul makes it clear: love is not a feeling — it’s a decision.
Biblical love is your joy in the Lord expressed toward others at great cost to yourself.
That definition comes straight from the cross.
Scripture doesn’t say love feels like…
It says love IS.
And then it holds up the mirror.
Love is patient — the ability to take a hit without striking back.
Love is kind — even when kindness costs you.
Not just with your spouse.
Not just with your kids.
But in every relationship.
So here’s the real question:
When you measure your life against God’s definition of love…
Do you line up?
Because love isn’t proven by words.
It’s proven by sacrifice.
Here are scriptures to meditate on:
📖 1 Corinthians 16:14 — Let all that you do be done in love
📖 1 Corinthians 13:4–7 — Love is patient and kind
📖 John 15:13 — Greater love has no one than this
📖 Galatians 5:22 — Love is a fruit of the Spirit
