Today at 11:30 am, I said goodbye to my sweet girl Juniper. Heavy rain began to fall around 3 am this morning, and the storm has only passed now that she’s gone. I have no words for the loss I feel. Everything feels so far away. There is not a single person who did not love this dog, and there is not a single person whom this dog did not love. She would nuzzle her nose under your hand to ask to be pet. She would press her head against your legs because the pressure soothed her. My Junie passed on surrounded by those who loved her. Never again in my life will I feel the weight of her soft nose on my leg. Never will I soothe my calloused hands on her velvet-soft ears. For months, her health was rapidly declining. Now, she is no longer in pain. My sweet June-bug, wherever your soul rests, elsewhere or with us on this Earth, may you have anything you wish for. I’ll see you again someday, puppy. I’ll be looking for you everywhere. ♥️🕊️
