oak!

The past few months, I was working on a mural alongside @ruby.jk.art in Altadena. This project became about more than a cool opportunity to create. It reshaped how I think about what murals can be. Not just something cool to look at but something that helps people feel seen and something that became therapeutic to work on.

I had the opportunity to meet other artists as well. Paint on my hands, sun on my back, sitting on hot concrete. Strangers stopping by to offer encouragement. Kids pointing at the wall. Little moments like that remind me why I love mural work so much. Grateful to have had the oppourtunity to assist (even though it was by a teeny bit) @anniehonglikes and learn from her care and intention throughout the process.

Huge thank you to @artsbridgegap , our mentor John Simard, the teachers working at Avenson School of Leaders campus and everyone who shared their time, stories and energy with us.

This experience is sticking with me, here's to many more. :DDDD
