I’m still in shock, so this is hard to write.

Today, I received the devastating news that we lost someone very dear to our community. Gosia, whom many people know as @wingspangirl, passed away today of a sudden illness.

Gosia replied to a story of mine when I got COVID 3½ years ago, and she kept checking in with me to make sure I was okay. Since then, we’ve had dozens of conversations about board games, but also about our lives in general.

Gosia always reminded me to look outside once in a while to see how beautiful our world is. We shared hundreds of photos of our travels with each other, whether it be on the other side of the world, or just in the woods around where we lived. She especially loved pictures of mountains and the ocean, and would frequently remind me how lucky I am to live near them.

Gosia was one of those people who always gave. Whenever you asked for a collaboration or a recommendation or an idea, she said yes whenever she could. You couldn’t ask for a kinder or more genuine soul. She had an unwavering hope and optimism, as well as a faith in the goodness of others.

This world, this community, and her family and friends will not be the same now.

Keep her legacy alive by checking in with the people you care about, and by remembering to take in the beauty of nature around you.

Goodbye, my friend. You will be dearly missed. 💚

Yes I couldn’t agree more her legacy should be checking in on others as even at the end she was more concerned with others . Her kindness was her super power .
