Just a few days before Valentine’s Day 2024, when I was still soaking in the calm after my birthday, one of my staff members at a community pharmacy sent me a message that would unknowingly change my entire life.

She said, “I have someone for you.”
I laughed it off and told her, “Please, I don’t do pharmacists, they’re too stingy!”
She only laughed harder and sent me a video of him anyway.

Two days later, a stranger texted me, introducing himself as Pharm. Emeka. I realized my colleague had truly given him my number. I wasn’t exactly interested at first but there was something disarming about his calm persistence. Every “hi” I barely replied to was met with warmth and patience. Then, one day, he messaged again but this time, for a consultation.
