Chelleh Night (also known as Yalda Night) in this poster is an Iranian celebration of the longest night of the year, when families gather to stay awake together and welcome the return of longer days. It marks the beginning of the cold “forty-day” period of winter (chelleh), and it’s filled with warmth: people share pomegranates and watermelon, drink tea, tell stories, and often read Hafez poetry as a playful kind of fortune. More than a date on the calendar, it’s a night about light winning slowly—through closeness, tradition, and hope.
