Oracles with Michelle

I picked up this book, at a bookstore in Scotland, based on the cover alone. I didn’t read the inside flap or asked the shop girl what it was about. I just bought it based on the title.
When I began reading the book, I was pleased to know that the main character was Mademoiselle Lenormand.
It was the most pleasant surprise to read this novel that felt like historical fiction. AND because of my obsession with Lenormand herself and the cards I read that are named after her.
The Tarot Reader of Versailles was such a pleasure to read, and I savored every moment of it. I looked up all the real life women the author included in the novel and gave myself a crash course in French revolutionary feminists. I was sad when I finished it. I wanted more! I wanted the story to continue!
