🙌🏽🇭🇹 Vegan Haïtian Soup Joumou for January 1st which is Independence Day in Haiti! 🇭🇹🙌🏽.
Today is January 4th and I’m far from my people, living alone and don’t eat animal products anymore. I’m still a proud #Haitian and not having this soup on the New Year has been eating at me. All the places I know that make this soup, use Maggie seasoning or pull out the meat for a vegetarian/vegan version. The only solution is to make my own until I find a proper vegan woman who might make it for me or who’ll share this one with me.
In the meantime, on my next day off, I went and bought the ingredients to make myself a vegan version like I did last year. Needless to say, this soup was late but right on time.
