8 months agoTruly one of my favorite films of all time. I saw it three times in theaters.
9 months agoI ended up rewatching this last night and here’s my take on it. I think the whole movie lives inside Ottways consciousness. Each of the survivors represents a part of his own psyche that must be stripped away before he can be allowed to pass. It’s why he fights so hard to keep each one alive. I would need to spend some more time with it to break down each character, but I am pretty sure there’s some relation to Dante’s Inferno as well.
9 months agoI saw this movie on Super Bowl Sunday when it came out. I was the only person in the theater. Watching it alone gave the whole movie a strange vibe.
9 months agoI watched this on Magic 🍄’s & it was spectacular. His portrayal of loneliness & deep sadness almost got me & then when it all hit the fan, he was such a great leader to the men & he fought down to the wire. Beautiful film
9 months agoThat’s a great take on it. I had some opinions close to that but you finalize it for me in terms of Liam Neeson might think this is probably one of his top 10 movies.
9 months agoEvery bit of me wants to believe that Liam makes it out of the final scene where he tapes the broken bottles to his fists and fights the den. If anyone could do it, it’d be Liam.
9 months agoMy favorite story about this The Grey is when Roger Ebert got so shook by this film that he didn’t want to watch any more movies for the rest of the day lol
