This is part of a research I’m doing on darkness as an aesthetic and visual identity. Focusing mainly on pop culture phenomena, post-punk and goth subcultures from the last five decades. I’ve been working on a series of portraits around this subject for some time now but they shall remain unrevealed for now...🦇
The project is influenced by the work of Jarmo Mäkilä from the 80s and also by Sue Webster and her awesome book 'I Was A Teenage Banshee'. Most recently been inspired by the very cool Helsinki by night exhibition at Hakasalmen huvila by Stefan Bremer.
