OPTIONAL. Taking $1,800 out of somebody’s paycheck because they missed a work dinner on their wedding anniversary is already wild. But sending an email beforehand saying the dinner was OPTIONAL makes this whole situation even harder to understand. Because what exactly was optional? The dinner or keeping your paycheck? And the way she handled it is probably the best part of this entire story. No big argument. No begging. She simply asked payroll to show her the written policy that allowed the deduction. Apparently, nobody could find one. Now imagine being that boss sitting in a meeting with HR and the finance director while your own email is being used to explain why you had no business taking that money in the first place. That’s an uncomfortable Monday morning. But the story gets worse when HR discovers seven other employees had allegedly been treated the same way. One was even on medical leave. Another paid $600 for missing a Christmas party because she thought she had no choice. Six hundred dollars to miss a Christmas party. At that price, the party better have included a vacation package and a new refrigerator. There’s nothing wrong with companies wanting employees to participate in events. Team dinners can be great. Holiday parties can be fun. But there’s a difference between encouraging people to show up and making them feel like their paycheck depends on it. And that’s what makes this story so interesting. She didn’t need some elaborate plan to get her money back. She had her contract, her completed work, and the boss’s own words. A month later, she says she got promoted. Sometimes the most effective response isn’t an argument. It’s asking somebody to put their reasoning in writing. That boss probably wishes he’d never sent that email.

Matt & Baby a surprise proposal in Cancún Matt and Baby came to visit Mexico all the way from Washington, DC. As far as she knew, it was just a couple’s photo session at TRS Grand Palladium Costa Mujeres. A relaxed afternoon, the Caribbean behind them, laughing and walking along the beach. Planning a surprise proposal in Cancún, Costa Mujeres or the Riviera Maya? We can turn a regular photo session into the perfect cover. We’ll plan the spot, the timing and the light. 📍 Cancún | Costa Mujeres | Playa Mujeres | Riviera Maya | Playa del Carmen | Tulum | Isla Mujeres | Cozumel Cancún proposal photographer | Cancún surprise proposal | Costa Mujeres proposal photographer | Riviera Maya proposal photographer | TRS Costa Mujeres photographer | Grand Palladium Costa Mujeres photographer | Cancún couples photographer | Cancún engagement photographer | Riviera Maya engagement photos | beach proposal Mexico | destination proposal photographer | Tulum proposal photographer | Playa del Carmen proposal photographer | Cancún wedding photographer | destination wedding photographer Mexico Inquire via email · hi@theartisansmx.com #cancunproposal #surpriseproposal #proposalphotographer #costamujeres #rivieramayaphotographer
