Life updates: I try to be funny on stage from time to time, and endometriosis is a bitch.
At the start of March (and coincidentally endometriosis awareness month), I finally got answers via laparoscopic surgery after more than a decade of debilitating chronic pain and medical gaslighting — it wasn’t in my head, I have endometriosis. A lot of it!
Endometriosis affects as many as 1 in 10 people born with a uterus. And yet it is woefully underfunded and under researched (here’s looking at you, $1.24 billion for boner pills). While I am so grateful for the care I’ve received, it’s clear that we don’t need stronger patients, we need a better system. #endometriosisawarenessmonth
