Psyched to share another panel I'll be on at #AWP26. It's really hard to self-promote, share glamorous images, celebrate collaborations when so much incoming news is horrific. When people I grew up with––refugees and immigrants––are pushed into deeper and deeper states of precarity. When I post here I try to remember the advice of my teachers @lidiamiles and @corporealwriting: make art in the face of fuck.

This panel: It is visionary!!! It is the future. And I know because I got to work closely with 2 of these panelists. I'll be talking about the amazing collaboration I did with @lissasoep and Sharif Youssef on the supercool MacArthur Foundation-funded Bonus Chapter (link in my link.tree and below) where they created a beautifully sound-designed version of the 5th chapter from my memoir, "Oprah Winfrey Feminism," the critical theory I grew up with, starting this journey of starting to question the redemptive narratives we are fed to silence the marginalized within families and nations. We'll be joined by brilliant literary figures working across media, taking words off the page, including @shawnoffandon as well as DJ Johnson of @baldwinandcompany. I cannot wait for this conversation! This is a group of visionaries!!! 🩵💙
