Genuinely the only sewing tip/ hack I’ve ever learned that permanentaly changed how I sew, my quality of life genuinely got better when I learned this! How I tie off my hand sewing thread. Just wanted to share in case it could be helpful to someone else 🪡🧵

Steps :
- Thread your needle
- Place the ends of your thread behind your needle and pinch it there
- take the thread closer to the end of the needle (which is currently behind your needle) and wrap it around your needle from behind to front (the more times you do this the bigger the knot)
- hold the thread on your needle and pull the remaining thread through
- knot!

That’s a great demonstration! Now how do I tie the knot at the other end as close as possible to the fabric?

I do it around my index finger of my left hand while holding the needle in my right, and then I roll it off with my thumb on the same hand and pull tight. It's ridiculously fast!
