there's also like a ton of different ways to push through the fabric. when my lines get super curved I have to reset the needle more often; straighter lines make for less tension in the fabric so you can just poke the needle out and then stack some more stitches without pulling the thread all the way through. does that even make sense?? I came up with most of these terms in my own head so I don't know if anyone knows what I'm saying when I write random stuff like "reset the needle" and whatever. oops. we will see #sewing #howtosew #handsewing #embroidery #fashiondesign

Please make sure you’re on my real page before purchasing. Meet Luna 🖤✨🌙 🧵 — a magical sewing companion born from a fallen piece of the moon. By day, she folds her wings tight, guarding her secrets beneath midnight blue felt. But at a gentle touch, her wings lift to reveal the treasures she keeps safe for makers: silver scissors, needles that remember every stitch, and threads that hum with possibility. Pattern available free to my Tier 2 Patreon members. The pattern is also available over on my website (links in bio.) Fun fact: A crow’s feathers aren’t truly black at all. They’re a shimmering midnight blue, but the colour hides itself unless the light catches just righty This multifunctional case even has a hidden compartment option 🖤💙✨🌙 #feltcraft #crow #sewingpatterns #sewingproject #handsewing
Genuinely the only sewing tip/ hack I’ve ever learned that permanentaly changed how I sew, my quality of life genuinely got better when I learned this! How I tie off my hand sewing thread. Just wanted to share in case it could be helpful to someone else 🪡🧵 Steps : - Thread your needle - Place the ends of your thread behind your needle and pinch it there - take the thread closer to the end of the needle (which is currently behind your needle) and wrap it around your needle from behind to front (the more times you do this the bigger the knot) - hold the thread on your needle and pull the remaining thread through - knot! #sewing #sewingtutorial #handsewing #sewingtips

It's always good to have a few hand sewing techniques in your back pocket, even if you mostly use a sewing machine. I love the Toymaker Stitch for creating rolled hems with practically invisible stitches. #sewing101 #sewingtipsandtricks #beginnersewingproject #handsewing #handmadegiftideas

The needle eye loop method a must-know hand sewing technique for every sewist Running out of thread before you can tie off your seam is one of the most common frustrations in hand sewing. Whether you're working on a whip stitch, running stitch, backstitch, or closing a ladder stitch on a stuffed project, this simple finishing knot technique will save your work every time, even when only a tiny tail of thread remains. Step-by-Step: Finishing Knot with a Short Thread Tail What you'll need: A hand sewing needle, your fabric, and a short remaining thread. Take your last stitch and pull the thread through, leaving a small loop on the fabric surface before it's fully tightened, do not pull it all the way through yet. Insert the eye of the needle through the loop. This is the key trick: instead of threading the needle's eye with new thread, you use it as a tool to guide the knot. Pass the needle eye through the loop, then wrap the short thread tail once or twice around the needle shaft to create tension. Hold the loop in place with your finger and gently pull the needle and thread tail through. The loop will cinch into a secure, flat finishing knot right at the surface of the fabric. Trim the thread tail close to the knot using embroidery scissors or snips, leaving a clean finish. Hand stitch quilt 😁 HAPPY CRAFTING! #handsewing #howtosew #quilttutorial
Hand sewing can be so much more, or so much less, than we usually give it credit for. Why not add sweetness to a thing that's already made, that's already in use? #HandSewing #HandSewingClothing #Sewing
