Hello! My name is Mirian Arvunescu and I am a third year student at Gobelins Paris. I try to combine my passion for animation and political activism. My favourite medium is 2D Animation but I have a soft spot for collage and experimental animation. My main inspirations are the comic books I read as a middle-schooler and my personal experiences. I’m the nanny of 3 cats who really like my drawings.
WHAT WAS YOUR PROCESS?
I spent my high-school years in Bucharest, and in consequence a lot of afternoons in IOR Park, I took walks, I played badminton and fed geese, a lot of memories i greatly treasure. I saw with my own eyes how affected the retroceded zone was and this motivated me to participate in the project. When I listened to the audio for the first time I imagined a dream-like sequence interview with the inhabitants of the forest, a community of fairies affected by the logging. I chose to represent the fairies as a lawyer-figure to the animals and bugs that cannot speak for themselves and lost their home.
