This little bit of sunshine these past few days has us all dreaming of summertime💛🦫☀️

In the wild, beavers survive the harsh winter by preparing long ahead of time and building a cozy lodge made out of mud and sticks, with an underwater entrance that they must diligently keep clear of ice to avoid being trapped inside.
All winter long they swim out of their lodge under the ice to their underwater pantry. During the late summer and early fall they stock their pantry by submerging and weaving together like poplar and willow branches and other food sources that will sustain them until spring.

Bo is very happy that she doesn't have to do any of that, as she does not like to get snow on her flippers.
Today was one of the first days I could coax her out of the beaver barn, and she was quite disappointed to find that even though it was sunny her pond was still quite frozen.
Don't worry Bo, we just have to have patience a little bit longer, warmer days are on their way! 💛🦫
