Things nobody tells you about going back to study at 44.

1. There is no perfect time. The middle of the mess is the time.
I kept waiting for life to get quieter. It didn't. So I started between school runs and after bedtime. Messy, but it counted.

2. Being a beginner again is humbling. And weirdly freeing.
I thought I'd feel confident going in. I didn't. I felt like everyone else knew something I didn't. But somewhere in that discomfort I stopped trying to look like I had it together and actually started learning.

3. I am slower than my classmates. And I am still not giving up.
Everyone around me seems to pick things up faster. Some days that's hard to sit with. But I keep showing up, I keep asking questions, and I keep going. On the hard days, I go back to the reason I started. I genuinely believe God led me to this. So I walk through it, even slowly.

4. The fear of looking foolish almost stopped me.
What if it's too late? What if I can't keep up? That voice was loud. I decided the regret of not trying would be louder.

5. Investing in myself has brought me so much joy.
Since becoming a mum I quietly stopped prioritising my own growth. It took me stepping back, getting still, and listening to what God was nudging me towards. Going back to study was the first time in years I said: I matter too. And I had forgotten how much joy there is in learning something just for you.

If you've been telling yourself it's too late, it's not. You just have to be willing to start in the middle of your real life, not the quiet version you're waiting for.

Are you thinking about going back to learn something? Or is there something you've been putting off? Tell me below.

Number 3 hit home. Being slower than everyone else isn't the same as being behind. The people who keep showing up, even slowly, are the ones who end up somewhere different in a year. And I love that you named the fear of looking foolish, because I think that's the real thing holding most of us back, not age or time. Question for everyone here: if you knew you wouldn't be judged, what would you start learning tomorrow? 💛

I'm so glad u get your chance to study. Yes, if you wait for the time after things settled, it will never settle down. There's always something else coming up.

I was a school college topper opted for CA and reached till finals but just couldn't complete due to family and kids responsibility. I am 30 and I always want to get that CA degree but somewhere something is stopping me I don't know when that time will come. I am so immersed in development of the kids Life that I have forgotten my own.
