Love Always Sanctuary

In a life built around love and caring for others I’m realizing how often I’ve placed myself at the very bottom of that list.

I’m still learning how to love myself.

Trauma has a long memory, and it doesn’t play fair. It lives deep in our cells and rises up when we least expect it. Even when we’ve done the work. Even when we think we’re okay.

But I am so grateful. For all of you who love me so fully. For this community. For these animals who offer their love without hesitation, without conditions, without question.

I think I’m learning that sometimes we find our way back to ourselves through the love that surrounds us.
