Wonderful to see one of my big wool sculptures, ‘Eternal Lakes’, in her new (green!) home. Seeing her position above a (decorative) fireplace takes me back to one of my first London exhibits, during my MA
@rcasculpture, where I installed a wax sculpture in front of a fireplace in a derelict Victorian house - the installation of ‘Eternal Lakes’ felt like a real cyclical moment. Fireplaces often symbolise the heart of the home, representing warmth, comfort and a place where people can gather and hold intimate conversations, which feels like the perfect space for my ‘Eternal Lakes’ sculpture. The work was inspired by my trip to the Lake District, where I explored my own intimate conversations and explorations of the English landscape and the lost knowledge and ancient magic that it holds from our ancestors. The secrets are there for us to find…if only we can sit down, look and listen...
The majority of my art collectors are deeply private individuals, and I am often unable to share my works in situ, in their homes. Therefore, I would like to extend a special thank you to the owner of ‘Eternal Lakes’ for sharing the artwork photos with me and for allowing me to share them online.
