For a bunch of “winners” we certainly don’t look very happy here. It’s a funny thing for a person to look back at being a Best New Artist when you are 30 long, odd years down the track. I miss MTV. I miss easier days than these. I miss not waking up on a daily basis to bad news. I miss my mum and dad. I miss my animals. I miss my grandma. I miss a pain free body. I miss my old home. I miss my old friends. I miss dancing in clubs. I miss being on the swim team. I miss my ballet classes, piano lessons,choir practice and orchestra rehearsals. I miss performing in plays and in musicals. I miss Inverlieth swing park and Edinburgh Botanical Gardens. I miss having zero responsibilities. I miss when my parents gave me pocket money and I never had to worry about fixing things.. I miss being innocent and I miss feeling free. These are some of the things I think about when I look at this photograph. But I do NOT, not even for a split second, miss being young.
