Title In Progress/Piece In Progress
At first I was planning on doing this piece as a Diptych. I was also going to try and use real guns that had been decommissioned (too expensive, but would have been cool). It started to appear that this piece was going to solely live in my head, like so much other works.
Ok, pivot was just the right choice to make this piece start to come together.

Instead of two(2) wooden panels, I decided to use an old canvas. Dimensions to follow.
Instead of real guns, I decided to find water guns. Not so easy when they are off season and you are trying hard not to buy from Amazon.🤪 I started to warm up to the idea of toy/water guns. You will understand the why as I post the progress.

Before I add the guns, I needed to gesso, paint, and gold glaze the canvas…because I wanted to.
The guns I felt needed to have a coat of gesso. A little crazy, 😜 because they will be covered with a flag. I am hoping to get the flag to mold around the guns…I am still working on this step.
I will post photos after I glue the guns, but before I add the flag. The flag will have a little extra detail added to it before I put the varnish or sealer on it.
