My choice of song for this post might confuse some, but I’ll always associate Mr. Brightside with my bestfriend who would light up every time it played in the club- back when we would party 4-5x a week.
I’m in tears going through these photos and writing this post. I’ve always dreaded this day- the day I’d have to say goodbye to
@lei_norwood and her family as they migrate to the US. I’ve said countless goodbyes and “see you laters” over the years, but this one feels different. It really feels like I’m losing a part of myself.
I’m so used to being responsible, composed, and put together- but with Lei, I’ve always been free to just be me. I can let my guard down, unravel when things feel overwhelming, and know I’m safe. She listens with so much patience, never judges, and gently reminds me to do what’s right- even when it’s not the easiest path. She’s been my extended moral compass, and truly one of the kindest, most patient, and most generous people I know.
I don’t even know how to end this post and when I can stop crying. Lei, thank you for being the incredible person that you are. You are truly a blessing to so many. And I’m so, so, so lucky to have you in my life. I will do my very best to visit you and your family as often as I can. And I’ll always be awake wherever you need someone in this side of the world.
I wish nothing but the very best for this next chapter for you,
@gnorwood5 @cash_norwood @the.orion.norwood @_izzysaint. I love you all so much!!!
