YELLOW FACE by Rebecca.F.Kuano is a story of two friends who r into writing ,their insecurities and struggles of publishing industry.The story follows June Hayward a struggling white author who watches her best friend Athena Liv a wildly succesful asian american author die in accident in front of her eyes.In a moment of impulse and desperation she steals Athena's unfinished manuscript n published as hers under name of Juniper Song.She knew her writing will never be as gud as Athena ...n she was taken away by the success n attention n fame that Athena enjoys which blurred the line bw right n wrong ,ethics n jealousy.To defend her lies she did everything immoral bt cudnt succeed .This story also highlights the struggle of publishing industry ...the widespread racism ,the pressure to make a book bestseller ,accusations of plaigarism n what not .The story progress around theme of stolen words n stolen identity ....n make u think abt two things .Firstly how low can one stoop to achieve success n Second fr readers it just takes few minutes to categorize a book as gud or bad or make it bestseller bt fr writers its their months of hardwork many sleepless night their thoughts their anxiety n everything they face while writing n also selling their book .
This book highlights what insecurity look like at its worst .....n.....Success isnt always about talent ....its also abt gets seen n validated .
This book made question everything abt publishing industry....it is nt what it looks like....it is quite chaotic.
This book is both fiction n non fiction .Fr me it was 2⭐

Great review. It does reveal a lot about how the publishing industry works. It always portrays how human nature is - we will always put our needs before anything else. Definitely not a thriller book.
