"War Stole Their Home.....Hope Keeps Them Alive".... As Long As Lemon Trees Grow is a beautiful, heartbreaking set during Syrian revolution The story follows Salama a young pharmacist who under unemittable circumanstances was pushed into becoming hospital worker. She used to witnesd unimaginable suffering everyday in hospital under constant fear of bombing ,atrocities n death.Salama lost her mother in bombings her father n brother were taken away as they were part of revolution .She along with her best pregnant friend were left in tough situations .Salama plans to escape war with her friend Layala bt she cudnt gather the courage to leave people suffering in hospital where she was needed most .The constant anxiety of all the fear n grief gave rise to a hallucination - Khawf ...her self manisfested figure which constantly urges her to run away from danger. In the events of treating people in hospital she met Kenan ,a revolutionary who had strong hope to bring change in syria .he used to photograph n document all the suffering n upload it so whole world can see what they r bearing .Slowly they became close n she realised he was the same guy she was supposed to meet n get married ,the day bomb blast destroyed their home n her mother died. Between all these tense situation they stood by each other n never lost hope .The biggest heartbreak came when truth abt Layala was revealed.it was quite painful. Its nt only a book bt a beautiful story of fear ,hope ,pain grief, loss and love stitched together. " Some stories desrved to be remembered....n it is one of them". #Bookstagram #emotionalreads#bookreview #booklover #aslongaslemontreesgrow by @thereadingpallette
"Ten Strangers.....One Island. One Killer.....Zero Trust"👀 AND THEN THERE WERE NONE by AGATHA CHRISTIE.....A masterclass in suspense. It is a timeless thriller. This book traps u from very first chapter.Ten strangers are invited to a remote island ...what they thought to be a relaxing stay turned out to be their death warrant fr the crimes they hv done bt not found guilty. On their first night of stay they were accused of crime n soon ppl start dying one by one and fear ,suspicion, and tension becomes real. They found a strange nursery rhyme hung in their room which stated "Ten little soldiers on an island" ....that was a lill clue how each one of them will die bt no one knows who it ll be next. The book plays with readers mind n moment u think u knw the killer it breaks ur delusion with a new twist. And The Last Chapter ....was pure brilliance....never saw that coming n that ending completely changed everything....still thinking abt it. No spoilers here bt a must read murder mystery ⭐⭐⭐⭐ #bookstagram #thrillerbooks #thrillerreads #agathachristie #bookreview by @thereadingpallette

"How far you would go to be successful" UR FRIEND DIES N U PUBLISH HER BOOK AS YOURS.... YELLOW FACE by Rebecca.F.Kuano is a story of two friends who r into writing ,their insecurities and struggles of publishing industry. The story follows June Hayward a struggling white author who watches her best friend Athena Liv a wildly succesful asian american author die in accident in front of her eyes.In a moment of impulse and desperation she steals Athena's unfinished manuscript n published as hers under name of Juniper Song. She knew her writing will never be as gud as Athena ...n she was taken away by the success n attention n fame that Athena enjoys which blurred the line bw right n wrong ,ethics n jealousy. To defend her lies she did everything immoral bt cudnt succeed .This story also highlights the struggle of publishing industry ...the widespread racism ,the pressure to make a book bestseller ,accusations of plaigarism n what not .The story progress around theme of stolen words n stolen identity ....n make u think abt two things .Firstly how low can one stoop to achieve success n Second fr readers it just takes few minutes to categorize a book as gud or bad or make it bestseller bt fr writers its their months of hardwork many sleepless night their thoughts their anxiety n everything they face while writing n also selling their book . This book highlights what insecurity look like at its worst .....n.....Success isnt always about talent ....its also abt gets seen n validated . This book made question everything abt publishing industry....it is nt what it looks like....it is quite chaotic. This book is both fiction n non fiction .Fr me it was 2⭐ #bookishthoughts #yellowface #bookstagram#bookreview by @thereadingpallette
