Gray Choi (@goodgrayces), our second-place winner, performs their piece “Joy is a Work in Progress” at our ROAR Story Slam 2026 at @racketnewyork in NYC.
Gray (they/them) is a queer nonbinary Korean-American artist. After dreams of being a KPOP idol didn’t pan out, they grew up into a cog in the corporate machine. One Pandemic-induced existential crisis later, they are now an actor-you may have caught them at a regional theater gig or indie play festivals in NYC. Offstage, they live their life a quarter mile at a time: raging about tarot readings, and tackling trauma and capitalism through art.
