Cyclists and car drivers often clash because they’re forced to share the same space but operate very differently. Cars move faster, take up more room, and expect flow. Cyclists are smaller, slower, and more exposed, so they prioritize safety and positioning.
That mismatch creates constant friction. Drivers get frustrated when bikes slow them down or take lane space. Cyclists get frustrated when drivers pass too close, ignore them, or treat them like they don’t belong on the road.
Add in blind spots, tight streets, and unclear road rules in some areas, and it’s easy for small moments to turn into arguments. Neither side feels fully in control, and both feel at risk in different ways.
It’s not really about “beef”—it’s about conflicting priorities in the same space.
