Becoming from Beyond (2026)
18 x 24”
Colored Pencils, Alcohol Markers, and Micron Pens
What constitutes a good life? How do we live with the unknown? What projects will we dedicate our lives to?
Making this artwork felt like a truly loving process. I’ve never made something that expresses this kind of compassion, as I think it’s sometimes been an easy escape to express something harsh, and discomforting instead. Looking forward to exploring this kind of work in future.
This was the last artwork I made during my time at the @nyartsprogram I’ll keep you guys posted on future projects.

John this is exceptional, you are both so thoughtful and talented and I love how you combine your deep sense of emotion and creativity. I often think some art styles can be ridiculous and reach in some aspects but the way you create these works is genuinely moving and inspiring.
