For Nomadik 3D Sound Week in Leeds on the 13th May, I will be performing a solo set using a range of digital instruments called the Xhabarabot Voice Machines.
Created by
@rshabara , the Xhabarabot Voice Machines are a series of digital, free-to-use, open source instruments that were initially conceived as an exploration on the potential of the human voice turned into data, before evolving its focus into a range of inclusive, free-for-all digital tools.
Dubbed as "Post-AI", each machine is designed to simplify and reclaim the human creative process through various methods and approaches that break away from conventional digital instrument logic. Instruments range from sample sequencers to tools utilizing the body and voice.
The machines encourage the emergence of unexpected patterns and forms through improvisation rather than composition using a tailored system of algorithms.
XVM emphasizes the importance of ethically engaging with sound assets, encouraging users to treat them as personalized instruments, both in source and the methods.
