Not on website yet, because i learned that XVM machines with visuals are significantly more popular than the other machines that requires more explorations to play with audio samples. by @rshabara

🌿 PRESENTING: RULLY SHABARA x ETNO ISI YK at IDEF 2026 🌿

Rully Shabara adalah seorang vokalis yang lahir di Palu, 1982. Ia tinggal dan berkarya di Yogyakarta, Indonesia. Proyek musik pertamanya Zoo, sebuah band math rock/eksperimental yang memadukan vokal dengan bass dan dua drum. Rully dengan kemampuan vokalnya yang unik berkolaborasi dengan musisi tradisional Wukir Suryadi, duo ini dikenal dengan nama Senyawa band dan merilis mini album pertama mereka tahun 2010 lalu, menghasilkan musik etnis kontemporer bernuansa rock dalam pengaruh avant garde. Baik di Zoo maupun Senyawa, Rully selalu menulis sendiri lagu-lagunya serta menjalani tur di Asia, Australia, Eropa dan Amerika, sehingga ia pernah bekerja sama dengan banyak musisi dan artis internasional terkemuka. Tidak puas dengan itu, ia pun membuat berbagai proyek baru sebagai komposer yaitu Raung Jagat dan Gaung Jagat, dan yang terbaru Setabuhan.

Rully Shabara is a vocalist born in Palu, 1982. He lives and works in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. His first music project, Zoo, was a math rock/experimental band that combined vocals with bass and two drums. Rully, with his unique vocal abilities, collaborated with traditional musician Wukir Suryadi, and the duo is known as the band Senyawa. They released their first mini album in 2010, producing contemporary ethnic music with a rock flavor influenced by avant-garde. Whether in Zoo or Senyawa, Rully always writes his own songs and tours in Asia, Australia, Europe, and America, allowing him to collaborate with many prominent international musicians and artists. Not satisfied with that, he also created various new projects as a composer, namely Raung Jagat and Gaung Jagat, and the latest one, Setabuhan.

XVM (Xhabarabot Voice Machine) is a set of web-based interfaces Rully Shabara built so anyone can make digital music, no musician status required. Each machine strips the process down and runs on its own logic, ignoring how digital instruments are supposed to work.

Rully walks you through how it works. You improvise instead of locking into rigid composition, play without anyone grading your technique, and learn to treat sound assets ethically as personal digital instruments, both in where the sound comes from and how you use it.

Jacob Maskell-Key is a multi-disciplinary musician, producer and drummer, founder of Nihiloxica and known for his solo project Spooky-J, with a background in jazz and deep roots in global club scenes.

Sofi - Electroacoustic/Glitch/Super collider

Sofi (Sofia Zaiceva) is a Latvian sound artist and performer. Through contemplation on digital obsession, creative coding, spatial sound design, improvisational practice , she excavates the relational qualities of sonic environments - revealing how digital processes can articulate deeply
human experiences.

Xhabarabot Voice Machines (XVM) is a series of web-based interfaces developed by @rshabara Rully Shabara as part of a practice-based research exploring music culture in the post-AI era.

Initially rooted in the exploration of his own personal vocal data, the project has evolved into an interactive platform for sample processing and live performance. XVM exists in multiple forms—ranging from sequencers to interfaces that respond to audio or visual input.

Rather than following conventional digital instrument logic, this approach leans toward a more improvisational, intuitive, and non-linear way of interaction.

For his solo live performance using XVM at PARA Studio, he also incorporates live vocals processed through delay and reverb effects.
