this is a reminder to myself that my relationship with God is more than just loving Him only when life is easy. 💌
I felt hesitant to share this because it’s so vulnerable and personal but i’ve realized my pain is not my own and that there are many that can relate to my story. when i’m deep in my sadness and feeling low in my depression, i realized what brings me back to God is creating. i created this documentary for a final project in my dance film class a few weeks ago. I wanted to create something that would encourage me in this season of burnout, discouragement, and insecurity. It was one of those experiences where I couldn’t fully trust the process, but the final product ended up becoming something even better than I expected. The ironic part is that I do not fully believe in the hope I portrayed in this film right now, at least not all the time. But I made this documentary because I wanted to believe in hope and joy again. Through this I have realized that true joy, happiness, and contentment truly comes from God. I see this film as evidence of perseverance and pushing past my unbelief. That I can learn to love God and be passionate not just through the good but through the bad as well.

Thank you to the amazing dancers that were willing and open to sharing their stories as well as sharing mines through movement and connection. Thank you to my awesome sister in Christ for narrating my inner dialogue and bringing it all to life with spoken word. Thank you to everyone behind the scenes that made production easy. and Thank you to God, for He has never given up on me. 💐
