What an honor it was to officiate some of the music at @erin_rose_ward and @andrew.griffes' wedding, in the epic natural setting of Sky Oaks Ranch, near Lake Piru in California, alongside very talented artists. My main task was to get the crowd dancing after dinner and speeches. I spent weeks digging in my digital crates, finding tunes old and new for this union of dancing souls so attuned to music from different traditions and tempos, from Amazon ceremony music to Berlin techno. My intention was to open sonic portals to let all generations, cultures and body types into the dance, starting soulful, groovy and cheeky and moving into deep, sexy and cosmic. I was so immersed in my set that I forgot to record it, but the dancefloor feedback was an unmistakable swirl of moves and smiles for two blissful hours, and I heard great things in return. There are very, very few people on this 🌍 whose music taste I respect more than Erin's, so it was truly one of the greatest honors of my life to give back to this amazing teacher and friend, and to her wise and inspiring hubby to be, Andrew.
