Honey Dijon digs deep into her early musical influences and selects her Proto House picks. #Yazoo – State Farm Known as Yaz in North America for contractual reasons, the dynamic combination of Vince Clarke’s synth wizardry / melodies and Alison Moyet’s bluesy vocals proved irresistible. “No one man owns House. House is an amalgamation of sound. Its roots run deep: the Sound of Philadelphia, the soul of Motown, the magic of The Salsoul Orchestra. Add the Teutonic pulse of Kraftwerk, the glamour of Italo Disco, the industrial and synthpop edge of the UK, and the New Wave/No Wave of New York’s underground. It was the collision of subcultures and musical expression that laid the foundation for a movement that went on to take over the world. Here are a few selections for your consideration and enjoyment”. Honey Dijon Human League - Love Action Dancefloor highlight of the band’s monumental Dare, and centrepiece of the League Unlimited Orchestra’s dubbed out remix take on the album by Martin Rushent. MUTE 001. Daniel Miller, then a young London film editor working alone, started the label just to put the record out. Grace Jones covered it in 1980. No one man owns House. House is an amalgamation of sound. Its roots run deep: the Sound of Philadelphia, the soul of Motown, the magic of The Salsoul Orchestra. Honey Dijon Spandau Ballet - Chant No. 1 (I Don’t Need This Pressure On) Driven by the relentless horn section of Brit Funkers Beggar & Co, Chant was the highlight of the band’s all too brief clubland excursions phase. Telex - Moskow Diskow An early (and global) electronic dancefloor staple from a Belgian trio who specialised in experimental cover versions (though this track is self-penned) and opted to remain anonymous. New work for @bigxthaplug x @avamax — BURN Huge thanks to Null Studios for bringing us on board VFX HOUSE - @null_studios__ VFX EP - @hwangproduction @bbyjodo VFX Artist - @elvisionary @enskarul @mertzv2 @valtsfx 3D Artist - @nes100pro We had only 2 days to complete 40+ shots. To achieve the best possible results, we combined traditional VFX techniques with AI, generating fire elements and integrating them into our shots through our own compositing workflow. Thanks to the teams at @higgsfield.ai, @beeble_ai, and @florafaunaai, whose tools supported specific parts of our workflow on select shots.
