I’ve never been a fan of “You must,” “You must not,” “You should,” or “You’re not allowed.”

But lately, in a podcast, I shared something I had almost forgotten about.

After our trip to Bali, where we were trying to finish our book, Diane came to me on January 1st and said, “Reinhold, I’ve decided to stop drinking alcohol.”

We had both always enjoyed a good glass of wine. Sharing a bottle over dinner, raising a glass with friends. We enjoyed it.

But that day, she made her decision. For herself.

And I thought, “Hey, why not?”

More than nine months later. Neither of us has touched alcohol. And we love it! We sleep well, feel awake, clear-headed and more conscious. Wonderful!
But that’s not really the point.
The point is that in a relationship, nobody should have to tell the other person what to do.

She is free to decide. So am I.

No rules. No pressure. No obligations.

Two people making their own choices. Sometimes, happily, the same ones.
This is one of the best things about being together.

Just wanted to share that with you today.

And just like that we became one! A huge shoutout to the @thespaatnorwich for making an absolutely unforgettable day! Malana is the wedding coordinator and she deserves a medal!

Stacy who is head of food and beverage went above and beyond not only with the food, but had me doing deep breathing 😮‍💨 before my last walk as a single woman.

It was the most perfect day, with the perfect people! Can we give a huge THANK YOU to @mirandarosanne for being a frigging rockstar behind the camera. Everything was perfect! We will be posting videos and pictures very soon!

Then after, it’s back to hidden gems and traveling New England! Love you all!
