I love him as a character, and I honestly don't think I'll ever stop admiring him. What makes him so special to me is how deeply human he feels like(?) You can have everything, be loved, admired, stand at the very top of the world, and yet lose it all in a single moment.
He lost everything. His kingdom, his status...ect even himself. He fell further than most people could ever imagine. Yet despite everything, he never completely lost the part of him that wanted to be kind TT
All it took was one small act of kindness from a stranger!! One tiny gesture changed the course of his life, choosed empathy over bitterness, compassion over resentment, and kindness over cruelty. That's why one of my favorite lines in the book which the most well known in tgcf is "Body in abyss, heart in paradise" , even when life throws you into hell, even when every circumstance pushes you toward becoming bitter, cruel, you still have a choice yk Your suffering does not define YOU🦦🤍
From a crown prince worshipped by an entire kingdom to someone collecting scraps on the streets 🥹
One line that genuinely made me cry that huacheng said "What matters is you, not the state of you" like its such a beautiful thing to say a beautigul way to love someone
The charachters are perfect in their own imperfect way, as we are

Also sometimes we underestimate how powerful small acts of kindness can be yk like a smile, a hello and a few encouraging words. Something that seems insignificant to us might be exactly what someone else needed to keep going ♡

But if there's one thing this story reminds me of, it's that whatever you're going through right now, it won't last forever. Take care of yourself. Be patient with yourself. And if you can, be kind to yourself and to others🤍
