When Mike and I were looking to buy a house, we considered the suburbs — or, more accurately, we argued about the suburbs. He, fairly, wanted to at least see all our options. For me, Lakewood was the only viable option outside Cleveland proper, and I know I was a real pain in the ass about how hard I insisted upon it.
But it was all worth it (if I may say so myself) to end up in an area that is so walkable, so friendly, so full of little gems on every block. Yes, it’s technically a suburb. But to live 12 minutes from downtown Cleveland but also be able to take daily walks like these? It’s the best of both worlds. And that’s priceless.

This is how I feel about being up against the National Park! How many people can say that they live 2 mins from a National Park entrance!
