Traffic to DuckDuckGo’s proudly “No AI” search page has tripled since the latest Google AI search update.

Since Google revealed its plans for an AI search overhaul, visits to DuckDuckGo’s AI‑free search page (noai.duckduckgo.com) have tripled — and they are still rising.

The page turns off every AI feature: AI‑assisted answers, AI‑generated images, and AI chat — by default.

DuckDuckGo has also released browser extensions to make it the address bar default in both Chrome and Firefox.

This follows earlier reports that DuckDuckGo’s overall app installs were up almost a third following Google’s AI push.

On iOS, install growth hit a 33% average, peaking at nearly 70%.

Google CEO Sundar Pichai has said that “AI Mode has been a revelation, our biggest upgrade to Search ever.

People love it.”
The data suggests otherwise.

People are not just tolerating AI search.

They are actively fleeing it.

And they are flocking to the one search engine that lets them turn it all off.

The backlash is real.

The numbers are moving.

And DuckDuckGo is the beneficiary.
