If you’ve been following along here, you’ve probably heard me talk about the nervous system in just about every post.

There’s a reason for that.

We’re often taught to see the body like a textbook. Muscles over here, bones over there. Hormones in some lab report. Thoughts floating around in the ether.

All of that is far from the truth. The body is never in isolation. Life itself cannot be in isolation.

A thought can become a tear in your eye, a knot in your stomach, tension in your jaw, or power through your legs in a split second. That happens because of the amazing network we call our nervous system.

Think of it as the biological bridge between your inner world and your physical reality. It takes your thoughts, emotions, stress, environment, and perception of safety, then translates them into muscle tone, posture, digestion, hormones, breathing, and movement, etc.

And this is where the modern world becomes a problem.

Constant screens, notifications, artificial light, poor sleep, rushed meals, endless noise, pressure to perform, and very little time in nature all teach the body to stay on alert. We are overstimulated, under-recovered, and living in a world that constantly pulls us away from regulation.

That means it’s up to us to reprogram the system.

Quiet mornings. Walks in nature. Meditation. Breathwork. Time without the phone. Less screen exposure at night. Eating slowly. Getting sunlight. Moving with intention. Creating, playing and so on. Really ask yourself.. when was the last time you were in that kind of state?

These things are so simple.. and that might be why some of us avoid trying them out and being consistent with them. We’re used to extreme, we want stimulation.. so the opposite feels unsafe.

Every movement is a neurological event. Every emotion creates a physical response. Every healing process depends on the body feeling safe enough to repair.

We really have to bring our awareness here and look at the lives we are living through a different lens.

I dare you to go be with yourself today.. just for 5 minutes. See what comes up. You’ll be surprised.
