In 2025 I attended George W Bush’s Portraits of Courage painting exhibition at Epcot with Professor @rosebriccetti . We thought it would be a kitsch goofy romp.
We were wrong.
Instead we found we were emotionally, intellectually, & conceptually unable to process what we were seeing. As you probably know, I constantly write about who gets to make art and who doesn’t.
I could not understand this. My brain tried to parse it but couldn’t. It simply slid off. Absolute disorientation.
Is the world even more monstrously indifferent than I’d ever realized?
For the past year we’ve been working to make sense of what we witnessed.
Here’s the plan so far:

Oh that’s going to be an incredible trip! I went to a lot of those places on a travelling scholarship last year, mostly studying the work of Pieter Bruegel.
